It is going to be a fairly crazy academic work week for me but I figured I would post as a study break. There is a great new song from Petra Haden (sometimes violin player for the decemberists, solo cover artist) that is actually the end credits of a movie called An American Crime. I don't know if it is the dread coming from midterm week but I am really digging the melancholy of the song. Here is a link: Petra Haden- An American Crime
I have been having some passing out like feelings today, hope it passes.

(Nothing But) Flowers
Ladies and Gentleman...I bring you cheeseburger in a can:

This German product is scary in so many different ways...apparently it is meant for campers who have a hankering for a cheeseburger. Don't be fooled by the nice looking burger next to the can, this is what it truly looks like:

It looks like someone decided to wipe their flop sweat with a cheeseburger. I mean look at it! How could anyone possibly consider eating that abomination against God! Cheeseburgers were not meant to be enclosed in a small tin and boiled...that bun looks like it just came out of the shower! I can only imagine what it tastes like...maybe a nice mix of slightly old spam and death. I'm going to have nightmares of the damn thing, a canned cheeseburger running after me in a long and dimmly lit corridor...growling and launching bits of wet bun at me. It gives me the heebee jeebess.

Funnel Cakes Are Just OK
Writing from Annandale tonight, went to a going away party earlier this evening. Even though I rarely saw Jen since high school, I am still kind of bummed that she is moving away. We were awful at keeping in touch and only saw each other during random encounters, the oddest being a funeral. Jen and her husband will be quite successful in Toronto but I hope to see them again at some point in the future.
Some food choices are most definately enviornmentally based, especially those items that seem bizarre or will destroy your body. For example, funnel cakes really only come into play at fairs, amusement parks or circuses. You wouldn't crave or want a funnel cake out of the blue, nobody even knows how to make a funnel cake in their own home (without an overpriced machine). It is a food choice based soley on circumstance and environment, like cotton candy or deep fried chocolate bars(only in the south and only if you have a death wish).
Ok, getting sleepy...night folks.

Apparently January Doesn't Exsist
Yeah, I basically skipped most of December and January. I just didn't feel the need to write and in all honesty, I forgot I even had this thing. I'll give you a little summary of the time missed: I ate a giant burger, I'm taking 20 credits and the Rangers are somehow good again. That's about it. Exciting life, I know.
So Ben Folds has begun to try out new material on the road and it sounds fairly promising. It is more upbeat and passionate than the stuff on Silverman, it has anger and an edge. Anger on a piano is difficult to pull off but when you have titles like "The Bitch Went Nuts", it can be done. I haven't been this excited about new music in a long time, not since the last Arcade Fire album probably.
My stress management course has been a God send...I feel more relaxed than I have in years. I end up becoming a little apprehensive when I read the actual chapters because the process behind and consequences of stress can be intimidating. You read this material and are able to trace everything back into your life, it is surreal. It is also a wake up call, stress truly can be a killer. The methods we have been learning have been hit and miss, with the breathing stuff being really helpful and the new agey meditation stuff...not so much. It is a real testiment to course material when you actually look forward to attending a class at 8:30 in the morning. I am more awake and energized at 8 am than I ever could be at 9:30 when I get ready for my religion course.
